newer versions of software

I went to install Firefox and discovered it is very old (version 10). How can I get newer versions of Firefox, Audacity and Filezilla for example.

Thanks!!

Re: newer versions of software

Right now, you have three options. You can ask for the software to be updated. In the long run, this might not be a viable solution, but it is possibly the most solid one.

Alternatively, if you so desire, you can download the "wok", that is the online repository of scripts that specify how software like Firefox and Audacity is built, update the versions, fix eventual errors, and get it working somehow. This is the process developers of SliTaz would have to go through in order to fulfill your request of updating software.

If none of these meet your requirements, you can still go to the official websites of that software, download a Linux 32bit version of it, and run it locally. Feel free to post any bugs you run in to, but please refrain from posting a bug in the bug reporting site, as that should probably be reserved for SliTaz-software-specific issues.

For now, these are the options. I'm working on getting you a fourth option, but that might take a while, so stick to the above for now.
