Screen resolution problem

i have compaq 6730s with resolution 1280x800. At first by default slitaz adjusts it to 1024x768. I used monitor setting to change to 1280x800 but after the change my screen was divided into two parts.I then tried to update any driver etc and it worked like charm. My screen resolution was OK. But on my second boot it changed back to previous version 1024x768.I tried tazx and installed nv driver but it didnt work too.

please help me fix it(i have tried to edit etc/X11/xorg.conf but i dont know how to do it)
