I tried to install Slitaz in my laptop last week using the Traditional Frugal Install as stated here: doc.slitaz.org/en:guides:frugal. It didn't work. I always end up with a black screen. Pressing ctrl + alt + F1 won't work either.
A few days later (yesterday), Windows XP got messed up. I can't access it. I badly need the files in my laptop since I'm having a new laptop on Monday. The DVD drive in my laptop is not working so I can't fix my laptop using the Window's Disk. My only hope now is to successfully install Slitaz (I still have access with the installer) to recover my files.
BTW, before the blackscreen happen. I'm getting a screen with bunch of text with [OK] and Sending Discover..... at the end.
So uhhh..... that's it.
Here's my specs (just in case, if needed)
Intel Core 2 Duo 2.0ghz
2gb ram
160gb hdd
256mb Nvidia VC

Sounds like a graphics card problem, (Nvidia), (that can be fixed).
If you can run it 'live', you can get your files saved to external media, (via the command line if neccessary), so don't panic.
Do you have any Linux knowledge? You could try adding 'nomodeset' to the grub boot line at start up, to try & get basic graphics.
I only have a little knowledge about linux. I've already tried nomodeset about an hour ago. A screen shows up showing Keyboard Settings bla bla bla. I was able to access box and logged in. What should I do now?
EDIT
I was able to access Slitaz Desktop. But it only happened once. I don't know what I did.
