Can the Slitaz run inside a windows desktop?

Sorry for being so naive, i just tried DSL linux and found it an interesting thing, it helps me keep my data hidden as a secondary O.S but i am not happy with the performance of the dsl.

I wanted something which can run faster on my slowy 2GB ram Windows 32 bit machine.

Please tell me if the slitaz can work inside the windows as an application instance. (i dont know but maybe theres something called the QEMU which does that)..

please help me out so that i can explore the possibilties with Slitaz.

Meanwhile, do let me know if theres any possibility of installing a Slitaz version on a very old 2002 Pentium machine..

Thanks.

Yes, it's possible to run SliTaz in a properly configured Virtual environment using something like QEMU or VirtualBox on Windows. As to how, I'm not sure. I've never had the occasion to try it, but I bet there are others on this forum that have and do run SliTaz that way.

EDIT: You may find these guides helpful: http://doc.slitaz.org/en:guides:start#installation-flavors-and-virtualization

From what I've seen and used, QEMU seems to be the easiest to setup and use. SliTaz also has the best guide for it ( http://doc.slitaz.org/en:guides:qemu ). I know that both VirtualBox and VMWare require a special file to work, while qemu can run fine with just the iso.

Re: Can the Slitaz run inside a windows desktop?

I have Windows XP and should I use VirtualBox, to explore Linux.

I installed Slitaz on VirtualBox. The only thing that I can not do - is to increase the screen resolution, everything else works fine. Internet in Slitaz transferred from Windows (can be configured separately) . But I have a relatively new machine and therefore Slitaz running as fast as if it were installed next to Windows. I read that on older machines VirtualBox is slow. You need to put and try as he will work for you. Furthermore Slitaz on VirtualBox can try other distros.

I use Slitaz into Windows using Qemu Manager, and it is just great.

For Slitaz cooking, you have to update Qemu into Qemu Manager to 0.13 otherwise it doesn't launch.
