Can't install Slitaz RC-2 to hard disk

Please, help!

Live session Slitaz RC-2 started.

But then Can't install to hard disk :

Hi gap305,

One possible cause : this can arrive when you click on [Proceed to SliTaz installation] just after you inserted the LiveCD in the reader. Wait a few seconds before to launch installation.

Thanks to you, Ceel.

I insert LiveCD (slitaz-5.0-rc2.iso), start slitaz from it, and then start slitaz installer and try to install to hdd without ever taking out the liveCD, but it doesn't work...

Can I install from web? What source to choose for RC-2 : stable version, rolling version or other?

I have had best luck with 4.0 (stable)

Boot all the way then run installer from

top-left of screen .....

I tested installation without eject the Live after boot and didn't meet the problem... Try to eject the CD after boot, insert it again when you are ready to install, wait 5 - 10 seconds before launch the installation and see.

From web, rolling is that is closer to RC-2 (RC-2 with some updated packages); stable will install SliTaz 4.0 and cooking will install... cooking (older than RC-1).

If you really want to install RC-2, download the ISO, in the installer choose ISO file and give the exact and entire path to the file (ie: /home/tux/slitaz-5.0-rc2.iso)

This is the error message:

mount: / dev/sr1 is write-protected, will be mounted read-only   mount: no medium found in / dev/sr1   -x-x-  Error: / dev/sr1: Failed to mount.   Process not completed

The cdrom device detected /dev/sr1 indicates you have 2 optical drives in the computer.

This means the slitaz live cd is in /dev/sr0

The code tazinst uses to detect the optical drive device will always try to mount the highest drive number.

[c]cat /proc/sys/dev/cdrom/info | grep "drive name" | cut -f 3[/c]

Without rebooting,eject the slitaz live cd,move it to the other optical drive and try to run the install.

After having disconnected the second optical drive (DVD reader) Slitaz was installed quickly.

Sure, slitaz is great. But still I have lots of issues after installation: no sound, no flash plugin, I don't see the printer etc... So I suppose I will have to post some topics more... This one may be closed. Thanks to all.

You just need to install the printer drivers and the flash plugin. Sounds should be working, but may need to be configured.
