Live USB hangs on Dell, won't connect on AspireOne

My Dell Mini 9's SSD died recently, & I replaced it with an Acer. Now I'm trying to set up a USB stick I can run it from, with wired Internet, as a backup computer.

Put SliTaz 3.0 on a stick with UNetBootIn. This does boot on the Acer (Aspire1 D257), but won't connect. It reports a MAC address.

On the Dell, boot hangs at the line "Parsing kernel cmdline for SliTaz live options."

What might this suggest?
