New at Slitaz...few questions.

Hi everybody:

I installed the version 3.0 base.

I have some questions.

These are the applications installed:

http://pastebin.com/YJB4qygc

I can see the icons at the aplications gui  ( see picture )

launching leafpad, for example, i have this:

(leafpad:2355): Gtk-WARNING **: Error loading theme icon 'gtk-cut' for stock: Error al abrir el archivo: No such file or directory

(leafpad:2355): Gtk-WARNING **: Error loading theme icon 'gtk-copy' for stock: Error al abrir el archivo: No such file or directory

(leafpad:2355): Gtk-WARNING **: Error loading theme icon 'gtk-paste' for stock: Error al abrir el archivo: No such file or directory

(leafpad:2355): Gtk-WARNING **: Error loading theme icon 'gtk-delete' for stock: Error al abrir el archivo: No such file or directory

(leafpad:2355): Gtk-WARNING **: Error loading theme icon 'gtk-select-all' for stock: Error al abrir el archivo: No such file or directory

where i have to write my alias?

I did it at ~/.profile.Something simple like cd /files/linux.but it's not working to me

Where i have to change the prompt's color?

I ma not using any login manager. So I have to write my name, pass, and startx.

In another distributions i could use rclocal file to autologin.but tha file is missing at Slitaz.

Thanks a lot

Re: New at Slitaz...few questions.

Same here dude: I do not see the image (too small) and I am not understanding what your message is really dealing with. Can you make it clearer please ?

What the link between GTK warning and "writing an alias" (what alias, what for ? related to ... ?)

Why wanting to cd to /files/linux (what is this strange location for a folder at root ?) at boot ?

Prompt colors are defined within %PS1 environment variable, you can (re)define it in your %HOME/.profile indeed.

As for me you will probably not be able to autologin this way in SliTaz (w/o a login manager -- Slim is default one).

Re: New at Slitaz...few questions.

Hi:

I am trying to configure Slitaz ( cooking base ).I don't want all the programs by defaults.Just what I need.

After finishing the base system I made:

Tazpkg recharge, upgrade, install xterm fluxbox ( and set it at ~/.config/slitaz/applications.conf), xorg-xinit, xorg-base-fonts xorg-xset, alsautils, linux-sound, nano, few more and tazx to configure it.

My video card is an Ati.I have tried tazx with the ati, vesa, and radeom..but after restart I just can see a blank screen without keyboard or tty control.I could do nothing.I know there is a light.iso but I don't want to install all the system and delete everything I don't want after.

Is there a way to install the base system from the light.iso?

With the stable version I have no problem.Just few things as explained before.

I have not an old pc.I want to use Slitaz just because I like it,but I prefer to use the last version (cooking).

I can't give information about what's happening because I have not acces to the computer.Probably using the live cd?

So, to me the first step is make the system works.

I don't know if the  Xorg & XVesa manual  http://doc.slitaz.org/en:guides:xorg-xvesa could be working with the cooking version.

If anyone has had this problem and fix it I would appreciate your help.

Sorry about my poor english.

Thanks a lot.

Re: New at Slitaz...few questions.

Hi,

I had the same problem. Lacking time (I followed all available hints and documentations) I just gave up slitaz-cooking and decided to work with slitaz-vesa.

Re: New at Slitaz...few questions.

What is in your Xorg log ? ==> /var/log/Xorg.N.log (where 'N' is a digit; you may have several 'Xorg.N.log' in /var/log)

P.S. : Should we ignore all previous questions in your first post ?

Re: New at Slitaz...few questions.

Thinking about to find a solution...

Using the cooking light.iso I could make tazx with the ati option.Logout the session and see the change with the resolution etc.

Probably copying the right file from the live cd to the system partition?

I did it with the /etc/X11/...but the problem still.

What file do i have to copy?.Assuming you can do.

Thanks
