Artwork for 4.0

Yes it's time to make your artwork for 4.0! We will need a desktop background, Slim theme, Fbsplash (fbsplash.ppm) image for graphical boot) and grub image for HD install (splash.xpm.gz)

Please use/incorpore colors that match the last Slitaz Network theme:

  Brown: #351a0a

  Orange: #d66018

And like usual your work must be done with Open Source - Inkscape, Gimp, Imagemagick, mtPaint

Re: Artwork for 4.0

I suggest the #351a0a but not Tango icons, Humanity icons looks good and will look great on the slitaz brown folders The Slitaz 20110329 panels a cool titlebar like the KDE 4.5 titlebar on brown (the same than the windows) and auto backup (I know this is'nt for tis section but I realy need it soon)

Theanks by you an the community for Slitaz and for your attention

Re: Artwork for 4.0

I would prefer a different set of icons myself. I'll browse through the gnome-look.org for some candidates and provide a list of them here.

Re: Artwork for 4.0

Here's me messing around with stuff: http://www.trixarian.za.net/downloads/slitaz-4-theme-1.0.tazpkg - so far it's just an icon set called Breathe and a GTK2 theme called Human Brown. Everything has been renamed SliTaz-4 for convenience with full credits left in the package. I'm still going to try finding an openbox theme to go with this. A cursor theme might help too wink

Here's how it looks:

Re: Artwork for 4.0

Yop,

For icons, I'm ok to change but I already done a brown icon theme, based on the orange one from 3.0. That said, we want some original artwork for SliTaz, not repacked theme, it has always be like this for stable and cooking release. Current Openbox theme is my work and here also we must make our own and original one for SliTaz, theming Ob is fun so make your own :-)

Re: Artwork for 4.0

Lol, fine. Here's a more original one based on Ubuntu's Human DarkRoom theme with a modified icon set of the one before. It has less dependencies (just murrine) and uses the SliTaz Tango icon set included with SliTaz as it's fallback set. I even created a Openbox theme for SliTaz Darkroom, so everything would fit well with it. Get it (and prior theme) @ http://www.trixarian.za.net/downloads/slitaz-4-themes-1.0.tazpkg - If you installed the previous package, use tazpkg remove slitaz-4-theme to remove it before using this package.

Ladies and Gentlemen: SliTaz DarkRoom

Re: Artwork for 4.0

You're doing verry cool things!

Here are my suggestions:

* Darker backgrounds tends to use less power and to be switter for eyes

* Bar on top tend to be switter for eyes, too

* A good contrast between background & content is generally better for eyes (e.g.: black & white icons for pcmanfm in slitaz-darkroom is not nice; all other element are! )

* Having at least both dark & light slitaz GTK theme probably a good idea to make everyone happy smile

And thanks for this cool stuff!

Re: Artwork for 4.0

I'm thinking of doing the Gnome icons in Orange instead of the ones I found. The ones I'm using is just too bright... It actually hurts your eyes after a while ^^

Re: Artwork for 4.0

We should actually pool all our efforts. We'd be able to create some great themes and icon sets for SliTaz 4! That should give the users one hell of a choice when it comes to themeing wink

Re: Artwork for 4.0

I think the cooking version brown is beautiful. (29-03-2011).

But why is there no spider incoperated in the art work. That is one of slitaz unique symbols.

Thanks

I like the red spider as used in the slitaz network menu items from the updated latest cooking version of slitaz.

Re: Artwork for 4.0

it's funny , because I remember there was a discution about Slitaz main color theme .

It was Violet against Brown as was Ubuntu .

now Ubuntu is getting violet and Slitaz is getting brown !
