error at boot after using tazusb (no internet and no locales)

Hi,

yesterday I have installed tazusb (I unistalled tazusb some times ago) I used the command :

# tazusb writefs bzip2

when tazusb ask for removing video configuration and locales I said yes, I thought they will be removed in the rootfs made by tazusb not on my system...

while tazusb was creating the rootfs, I saw my free space running very low. I stopped tazusb (with a CTRL+C).

Today, I boot my computer, I have no internet, actually ifconfig doesn't show my eth0, only lo.

there the lines from the bootlog :

Loading console keymap: /sbin/tazkeymap:cannot open file /sbin/tazkeymap:

[ Done ]

Activating swap memory...                                            [ Done ]

Starting TazPanel web server on port 82...                           [ Done ]

Processing: /etc/init.d/network.sh

Setting hostname to: tiamat                                          [ Done ]

Configuring loopback...                                              [ Done ]

ifconfig: SIOCGIFFLAGS: No such device

Starting udhcpc client on: eth0...

udhcpc: SIOCGIFINDEX: No such device

Re: error at boot after using tazusb (no internet and no locales)

Please read the docs or [c]tazusb -h[/c] to learn command options:

# tazusb writefs bzip2

bzip2 is not an option

Supported compression:lzma, gzip, or none.

Files likely got corrupted so the network card driver or configuration no longer works.

Re: error at boot after using tazusb (no internet and no locales)

@ mojo what files are corrupted ? I try to copy

/etc/network.conf,

etc/network

and /sbin/tazkeymap

from a sane slitaz installation, but I still have the same errors. If I use the livecd to update the partition does it will fix it ?

Re: error at boot after using tazusb (no internet and no locales)

I used the way I wanted to avoid... I just reinstalled everything except /home...

I REALLY DON'T UNDERSTAND WHY TAZUSB HAS MESSED WITH MY INSTALLATION, IT SHOULD MESS WITH THE GENERATED ROOTFS. SOME EXPLANATION WOULD BE APPRECIATED

Re: error at boot after using tazusb (no internet and no locales)

just think a little bit - where should the information come from? If you tell tazusb or tazlito to remove locales or xorg or sound configuration, it has to be done somewhere. If you run tazusb or tazlito from your installation - of course it will change the installation.

These commands are intended to be start from the live Cd, which is running in RAM - you do all your changes and run tazusb or tazlito....

Re: error at boot after using tazusb (no internet and no locales)

iirc there is no message who warns about that, I thought that tazusb will change the generated rootfs not my installation.
