how to install old broadcom bcm4309 wireless card

I search and read on the forum, but none of those worked.

there was one thread suggesting to edit the rcS.conf and network.conf. But the result was I got the eth0 busted and had to revert every edition in order to get back my eth0.

it was an old dell notebook and I have the bcmwl5.inf (driver).

can any one please guide me throught this.

Re: how to install old broadcom bcm4309 wireless card

No guide, just some tips:

1. Find out which firmware it needs

2. Check in /lib/... whether this firmware is there

3. Check with lsmod whether the module is loaded

4. Check with tazhw detect-usb (or so...) whether it is used

Finally, check whether it is loaded (rcS.conf and network.conf)
