Request for additional ARM packages

For improved usefulness, it would be good to have the samba suite added to the list of available packages for slitaz-arm. This would allow windows file sharing and also mounting of CIFS file systems. Especially NAS applications for the Raspberry Pi will need this also.

Next on my list is the Perl suite. Probably not considered urgent as we have some Python but I'm not using that. However, Perl is quite large and this means probably a lot of work so I'm making my request as polite as possible.....

Eventually there should be an even larger set of packages, simply in order to compete with Raspbian. If you see how much software there is available for it, it is not surpising that this distro is so popular and it will be hard to beat. If I would know how to do it I could make some contributions in this area myself.

How difficult is it to recompile everything we have for slitaz-stable?

I will have to try slitaz on my pi again.

I couldn't get it to boot months ago when I tried.

But I think an out of the box running ftp server would be a nice alternative to samba.

My only experience with samba and x is on my 256mb RPI on raspbian and I found using ftp to upload files much faster than trying to copy them down from my network.

Granted slitaz probably uses half the ram of raspbian so it might not be so bad browsing shares.

The busybox ftpdaemon is there and its working fine!

Actually the main reason for me asking is this package also contains the mount.cifs which I need to mount my NAS.
