As soon as Slitaz drops below 100, its off the top 100 distro list.

Once we go to version 5.0 there will be more hits, of that I am sure.
Whilst my main distro is AntiX (base version), I will often also suggest SliTaz & TinyCore to those people looking for a really light Linux distro

It went up to 98, and then dropped again to 99.
If we do like I do now, and set up http://distrowatch.com/table.php?distribution=slitaz
as my default start page in my browser, the aid is then automatic.
I guess this is needed in order not to loose that position before 5.0 is out.

It is very sad to see this happening; Slitaz is a great distro (and there are great people here working on it)
Unfortunately, 5.0 still has some annoying issues, despite lot of promises. And we do not know if and when it will ever be out

I take note that the Slitaz Rasberry version is mentioned on the distrowatch Slitaz page, but the release is not in the list of releases.
To bumb it up a bit, one might have a even more tested and developed version of the Rasberry version to release and combine it with another a RC3 of the main distro?
That would get more testers and what not. To get off this list I think is like the start of the end and that must not happen.

Neither is the 64 bits version released or mentioned. So there is a chance to get back from the sad position its in now and then at least be on the top 100 list.
I see Simplicity Linux, a simple rebuild of Puppy Slacko, also sends Softpedia a "story" to "print" and they are number 27(?) with two developers and one person that does not know anything about computers to test it.
Something should be done. I have criticized Puppy Linux devs to make horrible boring texts for their "news" on new versions and its important that the marketing part is present.
That said, I am off to test the latest cooking :-)

Okey... Here is some constructive criticism...
The last two releases was made with 17 days in between, preferably RC1 and RC2. That is 231 days ago. And that my friends... Is quite weird...
On the 29th of March 2014 a Rasberry version is released, added to the Slitaz Distrowatch page, but not announced like other distroes does in order to grow and gain free attention.
The Slitaz page on facebook was last updated in august last year. LAST YEAR ;-)
So to get back to beginning... What is keeping Slitaz back from releasing a RC3, based on what happen in 231 days, compared to whatever could be done in 17?
Is there like NO PROGRESS in 231 days to even mention?

I have also clicked on DW today.
I also recommending to my friends Slitaz as a light and fast OS to use.
@Atle, I believe that was a lot of progress in Slitaz, but this OS is released as a "rolling": everyday it has a new "version" with improvements. A RC-3 could be showed to the world, but in the day after it will be a new version again, with more improvements... it's a continuous cycle...

RC2 really is a pain in the arse. I've been using RC1 with no issues as my main OS for over two months now and I intend to write a story about it on a few websites and I'll link to the Distrowatch page instead of slitaz.org -> thus getting two things at once (ranking on distrowatch and publicity).
Now that Aleksej has made the Romanian keyboard layout to work, I'll also use my contacts here to popularize.
Btw - Softpedia is a Romanian enterprise and I happen to know quite a few people in there. I'll try to get 'em write a new piece in there. I'll be damned if I'll leave my newly found favorite distro not popularized enough

Also to make sure a release is also made into a little story for them, is also very clever as Simplicity does.
Try to write a bit narrow, so that if you find out that you like your writing and see your stuff all over the net, experiencing newbees that YOU brought to the community etc.
But if the Romanian keyboard is now working, is that going to be in either RC1 og RC2?
As for me I agree that RC2 is the reason things are dropping like a stone, being a Linux users for more than 10 years now, I am not able to get RC2 beyond "Kernel Panic" in the early boot stages, so the hint on RC1 being a better choice, I might just give it another try.

Hmmm.... I have been looking for that rolling release for some time and its not really intuitive to find. Why is this not a part of the "download" section on the "front page" of this site?
I would say that would be a better choice than having the RC2 that at least for me, seems helpless and have been a waste of time to try booting on several laptops...
If this rolling release works, I hereby demand its easy to find among the other downloads and if its there, please come and help me to a eye doctor:-)

I'm using RC1 and I will keep on using RC1 for quite some time now since I made it work absolutely fantastic and it's now my main OS and Winblows is only allowed to exist because I can play Pro Evolution Soccer and FIFA in it )

In the few days I've struggled with RC2, I got it beyond "Kernel Panic" in early boot stages but most of the stuff just couldn't get done in it - or at least I couldn't. Meanwhile, RC1 worked like a charm and did essentially everything I wanted from it and then some.
What i meant is that one can make it 3 stories in stead of one.
1) The experience with Slitaz 5
2) Some test on Slitaz Arm
3) Some test of Slitaz 64 bits
If you write about them all at once, its only one story, hence the "narrow it" :-)

I ask you very much—please, don't cheat!
We had a problem with a DistroWatch in a February, 2013.
Ladislav Bodnar blocked our link in the footer of our web sites that lied to the SliTaz DistroWatch page (reason: Object Loading on every page). Our own sources audit don't shows any relevant.
It is a very weird story that ends. Please, don't cheat, it lower SliTaz reputation.

Unless putting the SliTaz link into the signature(s) of every forum I hang out on, dropping some links on the IRC servers I hang around and naming it explicitly on the facebook pages I am admin on - counts as cheating, then definitely I'm not cheating.
I do with SliTaz what I do with other favorite products of mine - advertise them amongst the people who are part of my audience. I hardly think that counts as cheating...
