Connection to the internet via authenticated proxy

Hello, I'm having trouble setting up SliTaz to work with the local VPN/LAN here at work. It's a Windows network and, while the computer gets a valid IP and can ping and be pinged back, I cannot connect to the internet nor access networked drives. Midori gives a straight "Cannot resolve hostname" error to any external pages. Internal pages work properly (although midori is cutting me 2 characters short on input fields, the reason seems to be an outdated 1.4webkit package)

It's a proxy server which requires authentication. I'm running straight from the live CD, stable 3.0 release (12/26/2011). I've tried changing the DNS_SERVER and GATEWAY values of the /etc/network.conf of the eth0 to the IP of the proxy server, but it didn't work, probably because it's for static IP config.

Well, I'd like to know, first, if it's possible to connect to the proxy and the internet only with the live cd.

In any case, I'd also like directions on what and where to configure properly to connect to the proxy and internet, as well as networked drives.

Best regards!
