Optional wifi driver package.

Hej.

I want to install and run slitaz but have only wifi network, no wired (eth0), is it possible someone kind soul could zip and pack all wireless drivers for local download so new users can get started with slitaz ? On this machine is a qualcomm atheros AR 956x wireless card. I dont think there is many people left running wired networks anymore, it is several years ago I replaced my network with wireless for all the phones, surftablets etc.

I have asked same question in tcl forum, im desperately trying to break free from microsoft but most linuxes i tested latest weeks such as Linux mint, lubuntu etc does not work, slitaz is one of the few working on my quadcore intel 64bit machine.

Kindly Peter.

Re: Optional wifi driver package.

The best way to test a Linux distro is by running it 'live' - if you can't get your wifi connected, especially if new to Linux, try a different distro.

You will soon learn enough to be able to then go & setup your wifi on other distros that you want to try.

(AntiX 13.2 & MX-14.3 might be worth looking at for you.)

Re: Optional wifi driver package.

the driver for your card should be included - ath9k

just check with lsmod in the terminal, if the module is loaded

next check with iwconfig, if the card is correct

and then configure the wlan - you can use "subox wifibox" from the terminal

or follow this guid
