The final last word on poulsbo with the Intel 2700MUD board

C'est tout a fait simple. The final word is not to use poulsbo at all. Instead, you need to get a /dev/fb0 working, which in any grub2 system ought to involve saying something like vga=792 or vga=795 on the isolinux or grub2 command line. Then you need the mythical slitaz mini fbdev_dev.so driver, which all by itself provides a really high-speed interface to the gma600 that comes with the Intel 2600 and 2700 desktop board series. With a desktop monitor, you still need to put the monitor into 4:3 not 16:9 to get round circles (many new monitors have a switch on the side, your television has a control for doing this). And, it does what seems to be accelerated flash and other video.

Some really bright person will find a copy of the i915resolution program and adapt it to the latest Intel architectures, which will obviate the need to switch the monitor.

And, anyone with a laptop powered by the same medfield chipset automatically gets the correct resolution for fullscreen round circles at very high speed using fbdev.

just for docu - what did you use? - did you install xorg-xf86-video-fbdev

can you describe a bit, so its easy to follow
