3g usb win modem

I have only a 3g win modem. No other internet connection. I download slitaz 3  from xp and put the iso to a usb stick to boot from it. I read the document how to set up usb win modem. (# tazhw setup 3g-modem). How to I install the packages offline. I mean to say that can I download the packages within windows xp and later install it offline?

Sorry for my poor english.

Re: 3g usb win modem

Thanks for quick reply. I forgot to mention that I am a newbie to Slitaz.

These link http://www.trixarian.za.net/downloads/sakis3g-stable.tazpkg and http://trixarian.za.net/downloads/sakis3g-cooking.tazpkg are broken. I did not find anything http://www.trixarian.net/SliTaz here.

Re: 3g usb win modem

Most of those requirements are old. The new sakis3g packages kind of are a collection of packages now, so you only really need usbutils, tar, bzip2, linux-dialup and bash for SliTaz 3 and only linux-dialup and bash for SliTaz Cooking or SliTaz 4 RCs.

You can find the relevant packages by searching for them at http://pkgs.slitaz.org/ and downloading them. The rest of the instuctions should work like you'd expect.

Re: 3g usb win modem

I did everything as per instructions. After installing the packages I hotplug the usb 3g wireless modem. I did not see Sakis3g in Internet option. I run sakis3g but nothing happens. No device in /dev/ttyUSB* or /dev/ttyACM*. The device shown in /media/cdrom. lsusb detect the device as 1c9e:f000.

I run Slitaz 3 from live usb created with LinuxLive usb creator.

Please help;.

Re: 3g usb win modem

I need your exact steps. I need errors. 'Doesn't do anything' doesn't help and won't help me solve your problem. I'm using sakis3G right now with SliTaz 3 and what you describe only happens if you haven't installed it at all.

Re: 3g usb win modem

Now I am posting this from Slitaz. Perhaps I made some mistakes. One thing I should mention that I didnot find any option in Internet. When I run sakis3g everything going perfect.

Thanks you all speacilly I should thank you Trixar_za.

One more thing. As I run Slitaz 3 from USB every time I have to install all the packages. How do I save the session?

Goutam.
