Per chi come me che ha un pc che non supporta xorg ecco una versione Xvesa support

Ricavata dall'ultima versione ufficiale ma con driver xvesa
Risulta rispetto ad xorg, con qualche differenza grafica sui caratteri dovuta al driver in questione, non ho riscontrato altre differenze rispetto l'originale
Per cambiare la tastiera dal boot cd press tab and edit kmap=XX

Hi,
The Tiny server Xvesa was dropped from Xorg more than 2 years ago... The most compatible and usable TinyX server is Xfbdev (means an autonomous X server, using no config file and only cmdline args, less than 1Mb)
Xfbdev server is a framebuffer server and need a vga=XXX option to work. I will try to do a flavor if I have time.

Now I can boot into 4rc2 (with nomodeset) - no more screen off at desktop. Grazie!

I tried SliTaz-xfbdev.iso and is presented without any graphics, only the cursor and the context menu.

It's not about a horse that runs well, but how well it can keep up with the newer and faster horses... a 2 year old Xvesa driver might show it's age by not working with cutting edge technology.

SliTaz is known for its ability to adapt to the old PC.

Just download your version and booted from it. Straight, quick, nice. The screen resolution I set with ease at 1280x1024. But it is lost when I stop the session.
The usual problem with kmap: it is set right in the file /etc/kmap, nevertheless the content of this file is not transmitted - the keymap stays wrong. Even after leaving the session.
Funny: lsmod shows that the driver nouveau is loaded and in function, not vesa! To stop the screen by ctrl+alt+bsp is not possible!

I updated the iso with an identical version but removed the screen keyboard and language settings
