No wifi firmware on /lib/firmware in RC2

My version 3.0 slitaz has iwlwifi-3945-2.ucode , the 4965 and the 5000. I've realized that these  files aren't present in RC2. Using lxpanel I tried to installed get-wifi-firmware. It download a other firmware like rt61,rt73 and rt2870, but I got a:

-could not download iwlwifi-3945-ucode.....

"      "    "        "     -4965-ucode

"      "    "        "     -5000-ucode

wget: no response from server.

It did download a lot of script like get-wifi-5000-firmware, get-wifi-1000-firmware, etc.

When I run the script, from a terminal all I get is, wget: no response from server www.intelllinuxwireless.org.

Did they close to the public?

Are those libraries necessary for your wifi to run properly?

I have problem with my wireless connection running very slow under RC2.

Re: No wifi firmware on /lib/firmware in RC2

Not yet. I installed all the iwlwifi firmware and the wireless connection still runs very slow.

Again, on my version 3.0 partition or the xubuntu partition I have on the disk, everything runs fine.

Any other suggestion?

thanks.

Re: No wifi firmware on /lib/firmware in RC2

Are you loading the same wireless module and installing the same firmware in Slitaz.4.0-RC2 as in slitaz 3.0

Open a 2nd terminal

tail -f  /var/log/messages

Look for errors as you load/unload wireless module in first terminal and use wireless.

Provide this info if you need more help.

Post output with wireless adapter info:

USB wireless adapter:

#tazpkg -gi usbutils

#lsusb

PCI wireless adapter:

lspci -nn

lsmod

Copy/paste to pastebin.com

Post link in reply.

Re: No wifi firmware on /lib/firmware in RC2

I get-install the firmware-3945-iwlwifi-20110227, the 4965 and the 5000. I did not get an error on the other terminal. Those were the numbers that were stalled in version 3.0. Tazpkg list confirm that they are installed now in my version 4 RC2 partition.

# tazpkg -gi usbutils

# lsusb > pastebin.com

# lspci -nn >> pastebin.com

# lsmod >> pastebin.com

I hope the upload work. Never done it before.

kultex was right, there is an extra l in the intell wesite.

Sorry, but I don't understand . I have the file in my current directory.  How I post the address of the file?

Can you give me more details?  I don't use forums much. Hate to sound so stupid.

Re: No wifi firmware on /lib/firmware in RC2

Well, I hope you got the file. If not, I continue tomorrow. My wireless connection in RC2 works in slow motion. Sometimes it takes for ever. I have spend the whole day on this problem.  Honestly, if the problem can not be solve,  I have no problem staying  with version 3.0 until futher notice. I don't want too take to much of your value time.  It seems that I'm the only user with this problem. Maybe I can move to test other things that don't require the Internet.

Thanks for your help
