Slitaz installation, did not select bootloader. Where is the vmlinuz-3.2.53-slitaz?

I just installed slitaz-rolling-core-iso on my multiboot netbook, Dell mini 1010 yesterday.

I wanted to boot into my other linux OS and detect slitaz in Grub2, but there is no "vmlinuz-3.2.53-slitaz" in /boot/

Grub2 os prober shows "unknown linux distribution" but doesn't include it in the grub menu or grub.cfg.

BTW, on my system, working Slitaz installations were always detected as "unknown linux distribution", until I edited Grub2.

Where is the file? Does it not install if you don't select "load bootloader" on the last page of the install program?

Below is a pic showing an earlier Slitaz installation with "vmlinuz-2.6.30.6-slitaz" in /boot/

Thank you,

Jon [attachment=37227,1886]

Re: Slitaz installation, did not select bootloader. Where is the vmlinuz-3.2.53-slitaz?

There have been numerous commits to tazinst trying to find the proper wild card for the kernel name that will work with 32 or 64 bit kernel names. Maybe it's broken and no longer works with either kernel. Finish the rolling install manually booted into your other linux OS. Loop mount the rolling iso and mount the partition holding the rolling extracted rootfs. Copy the boot folder from iso to install partition. bzImage or vmlinuz-3.2.53-slitaz are hard links to kernel, either will work.Clean out unused files to save space if you like.

Thank you, that did what I needed to accomplish! smile

In my MX-14 linux, I just copied the boot folder from the ISO to my Slitaz installation in /

and issued "update-grub"

Yesterday, I didn't try to resolve this by booting into Slitaz with the bootloader installed because I have video card issues and wanted to get Slitaz loaded with my other operating systems.

I have the fabled GMA 500 poulsbo video.

I'll try and resolve that myself, and thank you for your quick reply.

I tried to select "Resolved" above, but I guess a moderator needs to do that.
