No modules loaded on startup

Hey Folks,

After booting my (HDD install)machine today i noticed my external screen not being recognized.

i tried lsmod to see if the graphics module was loaded..

but the output list is empty ?!

i have no idea how this happened..

any help?

i just came accross this behaviour again with a rootfs.gz i made.

is this due to some package upgrade possibly?

how can i manually load al the modules when im in the system?
