more than one user, sound!, and how to recognize which user is logged in?

I did install the actual slitaz64-rolling-core

and in it 2 users (=also an user guest)

guest ha no access to the sound and alsamixer answers " cannot open mixer: Permission denied "

it has not access to the sound icon (ok, without access to the sound, it is good so ah ah ah!)

to see which user is logged in, the only way is to open a console! it is absolutely not good...

Hi oui,

Here you can add your user to the audio group (and much more): http://127.0.0.1:82/user/settings.cgi?groups

Or using terminal (as root):

[c]addgroup guest audio[/c]

to add user with login "guest" to the group "audio".

For your info: users who are in the group "audio" have permissions to use audio equipment.

to see which user is logged in, the only way is to open a console! it is absolutely not good...

What do you suggest?

My suggestions:

1) add notification icon like "tazpkg-notify" with user-related info (Relative simple to write it, but it is Yad-based. And tazpkg-notify takes 340KB and Yad 16.4MB RSS in the task manager)

or

2) add the very first icon in the Applications menu (and then separator) with user-related info. Here need to slightly rewrite menu layout, and generate that icon (desktop file) for existing and new users. But it costs nothing if measure it in kilobytes.

thank you aleksej!

an other question:

is that perhaps the same for localhost users? is the use of localhost partially or fully reserved for somewhat like group "localhostclients"? oh yes, I see! (# sudo tazpanel ! and then, Setting > groups) www!

and using "cups"? depends from www? or more?

~~~~~
how to rename that thread?
([solved]if somewhat does not go, controll your groups!)
