SliTaz SliTaz Forum archive

This forum is now a read-only archive

The SliTaz community has moved to Maille, a forum made for SliTaz.

We looked hard for a replacement for this aging forum, including a move from bbPress to FluxBB last June. But spam bots now get through sign-up even with mail confirmation, and these forum engines are barely maintained anymore. So we wrote a forum in the SliTaz spirit: small, fast, no JavaScript, works on old machines and in text browsers. Everything here stays readable.

MS Office Starter with Wine in a standalone package

Hi Guys,

I'm still obsessed with the Libre Office (un)compatibility issues with MS Office.  Its just impossible to get ride of Windows for this only reason.  And yes, 99% compatibility still means uncompatibility as you will have to check you work with MS Office before sending your work ( a non-sense) :S

I'm not registred on any else linux forum so that why i post this here : As Ms office Starter is free, it woudnt be illegal to create a standalone package with a light-stripped-out Wine coupled with basic MS Office Starter. Something running Excel and Word with no installation, just a click executable file .  This would be AWESOME !
