2000 era pc

hi everyone,

i'm currently using slitaz live cd on a 2000 era pc that has 2g ram, no hard drive, a usb with a bad super block, on board graphics.. and just letting it run all day.

the performance is not bad, when i am able to get smtube to work i can stream even hd music while multitasking without pauses or breaks.

skype is flawless now.

i guess what really bothers me is the limited 2g storage, my usb that is brand new and dead, and how my processer peaks opening firefox.

any suggestions on what i can do solve these issues and get better performance wd be great.

Did i guess right you turned on your system and never turned off so you need to change you'r ram or flash drive. you are worrie about you'r data?

dussehra, a bad superblock doesn't always mean a dead usb key. You can try re-creating the filesystem. If it really has dead "sectors": some vendors offer low-level formatting tools (alas they run under Windows).

Note that usb keys should be mounted with the "noatime" option to mitigate the wearout of the device.
