Ever since I installed Slitaz 5.0 RC3 all the emulators are stuck on Mute no matter what, and other emulators (like ZSNES) say sound is enabled but ther's no sound output.
Also can someone help on this

Aside from emulators, do you have sound working?
You can try with one of the numerous players available, e.g. alsaplayer, vlc...
Run alsamixer (from package alsa-utils) and check level and mute state of both Master and PCM channels.

The sound levels are :

and besides emulators sound is working fine everywhere else.

Note: when you paste text that needs a fixed-width font, put it between backticks (`)
1) is there a setting in your emulators to select an output channel? It should be "Intel ICH5" or maybe "alsa" or so.
2) do you have pulseaudio package? I've read it may interfere with alsa (or maybe you have to install it? constructive interference ;-D )

1) I do NOT have this pulseaudio thing.
2)Emulator settings

I tried to run gba rom using visual boy advanced emulator. All works but sound...
Now I off home, and can't try next advice:
Try setting SDL_AUDIODRIVER=waveout (or you can use =dsound).
From here:

Our libsdl package was compiled without alsa support. So, environment variable can't help in any manner.
New packages can be grabbed right now from here:
http://cook.slitaz.org/cooker.cgi?download=libsdl-1.2.14.tazpkg
http://cook.slitaz.org/cooker.cgi?download=libsdl-mixer-1.2.11.tazpkg
(they will be on mirror tomorrow, and will be available for update using "tazpkg recharge", "tazpkg up".)
Now sound is played in my Visualboyadvance. But I found that it eats too much CPU (~70%), and sound is jerky (until I set 9 frames drop). And I remember that early it was better, on SliTaz-4 (or even 3), but I don't know how to cope with it.

Same here and it just gives me a headache and zsnes just crashes when I try to open it(noooooo!!!!!)Gens/GS still doesn't output sound but at least FCEUX output's sound completely fine.
