system language problem (locale)

Since some tweaking of Slitaz, i do not have anymore the option de_DE (neither for the keyboard nor for systemwide locale nor for the timezone). Only de_CH (Suisse German) is still available. I cheched the installed packages, so far all seems fine. Manage locale packages continues to not show up german german.

Frankly, io do not know what and where i could check elsewhere.

Did you try to force reinstallation?

[c]tazpkg -gi locale-de --forced[/c]

Also:

[c]tazlocale info[/c]

[c]tazlocale list[/c]

Thanks a lot! That worked!!! There is only a small problem left. The time zone configuration apparently does not take care of the daylight saving changes (CEST in my case). Is it possible to set something in that regard in the bootcodes (grub)?

Hi emninger,

No, there is no cheatcode for timezone settings AFAIK, as well as no CEST timezone configuration in the default SliTaz.

As you already installed "locale-de" package, then please follow the path:

Applications menu -> Settings -> Time Zone configuration

Choose country (Germany) and click [->] button

Choose town/city/area: Berlin or Busingen? and click OK

That's all.

Log out and log in to be sure settings are applied. Now SliTaz will switch Daylight savings time automatically for you.

Now maybe you need to set up your clocks because TZ settings are changed.

Simply open this link: TazPanel: Settings (you need to enter "root" and it's password to come in). There you can click the button "Sync online" to synchronize your system clocks with the time server tick.greyware.com precize clocks.

Would have been cool, to be able to set it in grub (IIRC on an alpine linux installation on a stick - with extlinux as bootloader i did ).
