Xfun with slitaz 5.0

The trouble is: nVidia Corporation NV11 [GeForce2 Go] (rev b2) does not really work.

May be you a good idea? May just the right kernel command line? - It is an old Dell laptop, 512 MB RAM.

And now the fun starts: I have made a frugal install of slitaz 5.0 on that laptop. The Xorg.0.log shown in the first post is what I get when I boot from the Live-CD.

Now the one that I get when I start from that frugal install (just copied the CD onto the Harddrive and manually wrote the grub1-commands):

The Xscreen works, but the mouse starts to move by itself to the corner of the screen. Impossible to work with this instlalation then. ;-)

Linux is nice insofar it never leaves you underentertained.

Yes, remove 'nomodeset', and add this:

[c]video=-16[/c]

Thanks a lot for the quick response. The results:

- booting  from the Live-CD: the same result even with video=-16. I see huge 4x4 mm coloured pixels and the mouse pointer moves shaky

- booting from the frugal „installation“ with „video=-16“ at the end of the kernel command line gives a perfect result.

So the trouble is apparently with the CD, whatever the reason is. For me the problem is solved as I can come to the result that I need. For you developers it is not finished. A further hint: if I apply this Live-CD on a Desktop-PC with another nvidia graphic card there is no such problem. What is the „secret“ of this „video=-16“ phrase?

No, you put it in a wrong place.

This sets color mode to 16 bit (65536 colors) instead of default 8 bit (256 colors).

Thanks, @az_ua. But what did I put into the wrong place? There is one CD-drive and I inserted the Live-CD there.

Addition to kernel command line after TAB pressed.

For 4-in-1 ISO/CD don't use 1st top item in list. Select flavor: core.
