Having been looking into the lxpanel shortcuts, I noticed that the shortcuts use the same categorization as the package categories, so to improve things, I think we'd need to change the categories of some packages. In specific, these are:
* leafpad (change from "office" to "development")
* gpicview (change from "graphics" to "multimedia")
* sqlite sql engine (change from "office" to "system tools")
* GNU Nano text editor (change from "accessoires" to "development")
* Burnbox (change from "accessoires" to "system tools")
* local web server (change from "internet" to "system tools")
* SCP secure copy (change from "internet" to "system tools")
* slitaz bug report (change from "internet" to "system tools")
* wi-fi configuration (change from "preferences" to "system tools")
I think that when this is done, the menu would all ready look much more logical and it would be easier to retrieve programs
Additionally, there are some other things I'd recommend doing:
scrap the categories "graphics", "documentation", "logout" alltogether, at least in the lxpanel menu. Multimedia all ready incorporates graphics and sound, so nothing gets lost there, and documentation links should not be present in the menu at all I think. Rather, just put the actual documentation files -cookutils doc, GNU GPL, tazpkg manual, tazlito manual, system doc- directly in /home/tux/ and copy them with every new user that's made, to the user home folder. Logout finally doesn't need a menu entry, it's all ready in the lxpanel task bar.
Finally, delete these menu links (not the actual programs themselves !):
Multimedia -> Jamendo Music
Internet -> twitter micro blogging
Office -> wikipedia encyclopedia
System tools -> system doc
Perhaps that LXSession log out menu link can be removed, as well as the program/package itself. LXSession could be a merit, but only if the shutdown and reboot buttons are in there as well, and if the "slitaz logout script" (which does contain these log off, reboot, restart buttons) is deleted as well. If both are present however, one is redundant.

Nothing.
Now you request the Menu be changed requiring all slitaz users to conform to what you think is best?
Build your own custom iso if you don't like the Menu.

I thought the shortcuts used the same categorization as the package categories, so changing the lxpanel shortcuts required changing the main package categories too. This was incorrect however; I found that the categories were made by the .desktop files in usr/share/applications. I knew of that folder, but initially thought they those were the icon files, which isn't the case. I modified these on my system with notepad++ and will put them in a package, and people can hence decide whether to change their menu or not by installing or not installing the package I'm making.

@linuxscripts, just FYI, Graphics means more than just pictures. E.g. I have there: Dia, Inkscape, LO Draw, Qcad, and Grace, which all are not just picture viewers/editors.
Also, I've heard about a GUI app named LXMenuEditor that should allow anyone to do what they want with their menus.
