How to install Ubuntu from Slitaz

I recently discovered slitaz via Drive Droid and have it running on my computer because my Windows installation got corrupted and figured it was a good a time as any to try out Linux. So I need to know how to burn an Ubuntu iso to a flash drive so I can fully install Ubuntu on my computer. I am a complete noob to Linux but I am pretty good with Windows. I have a flash drive with the Ubuntu iso on it but I have no idea how to burn it in slitaz. I saw a few programs in slitaz like ISO master and the like, but Im not sure which to use/how to use it. I can't download any 3rd party software because my computer is offline, but my android phone is. I really need help with this, my computer needs to get back up and running ASAP. Thanks

Re: How to install Ubuntu from Slitaz

Zackery Graves,

I can't give you solution, only hints.

Maybe you'll find answer on the Ubuntu pages? And then I'll try to tell you how to realize that solution under SliTaz.

Hint is: I remember that usually ISO copied to Flash using console command [c]dd[/c] (with several options).

I googled for how to copy iso image on usb in linux and found this: How to copy an ISO image onto USB with dd, for example.

Re: How to install Ubuntu from Slitaz

The iso is on the flash drive, I just need to burn it there. It's stupidly simple on Windows, why is it so complicated in slitaz?

Re: How to install Ubuntu from Slitaz

Oh, what you?.. It is deadly simple: just single command.

You can try other procedure from page I found for you. But you need to download 3rd party software there:

Re: How to install Ubuntu from Slitaz

@ Zackery

You will find the command if you read the links given by Aleksej

WARNING WARNING WARNING

Don't use this command as long as you do not fully understand what it does.

again, if you use it wrong, you will loose everything -- no way back.

I suggest that you "burn" the ubuntu-iso on another Windows-PC

because you are familiar with this OS.
