Vivaldi - More powerful browser (from the Opera team)

Hi,

I know you had given the Midori as the default browser but should we please hope having a Slitaz package to be able to use the new Vivaldi Browser ?

They still did not have finished to integrate on it the mailing manager but it will becomes a really powerfull browser that should be interesting for many users.

Please have a look to its features and let us know if we should hope seeing this package in Slitaz.

Sincerely thanks and have a nice day,

Miguipda ;-)

Hi there. This is great! now it's possible to install latest chromium based.   But I see here same mistake as in other get-packages.  Why I have to wait until package was packed if package removed after install ?  and wait again for single thread repack.  it's already  uses script. why not just use  commands  for 1.unpack deb  2.MOVE files  3.modifying tazpanel lists.

Get script:

The program source archive is fetched and extracted, converted to tazpkg, tazpkg is installed, then program source and tazpkg are deleted to save space.

Using the command [c]tazpkg repack <program.name>[/c] rebuilds tazpkg to install program to other computers running slitaz, add to custom slitaz iso or /home/boot/packages to autoinstall on boot with persistent /home.

Re: Vivaldi - More powerful browser (from the Opera team)

Hi,

I come back with some remarks regarding this Vivaldi browser.

FIrst of all I need to tell you I was really interesting to it because it is the only one browser (or perhaps also Chrome due to the fact this is one of its add-on) because I use Line on my smartphone and Line for computer is not available for Linux OS.

Then using Line extension on Vivaldi is a must for me to stay connected to other friends (who always use it on their smartphone too).

But I must be honnest now to what I encounter with Vivaldi.

I do not really know why but since two or three days my HDD was working so hard and the CPU overload.

And since yesterday I did not get back the previous last session I quit.

Then I checked the running processes and when I saw there is still running a Vivaldi-bin process that stop all the so hard HDD work and give back the CPU to normal I decided to stop using Vivaldi to prevent any problem on my OS.

I know this is theur first version and perhaps this will disappear but stay informed about this.

Sincerely thanks and have a nice day.

Miguipda ;-)
