wi fi not seen

Hi

I am new to Slitaz.

I installed Slitaz Rolling 64 bit core.

All is fine except there is no list of available wifi connections as one would expect in new operating systems. e.g. when wifi-box command is given.

I googled and tried this and that with no success. So here i am.

uname -a

linux slitaz 3.2.71-slitaz64 #2 smp sun jun 1w 10:43:56 cest 2016 x86_64 gnu/linux

lspci -nn | grep Network

04:00.0 Network controller [0280]: Intel Corporation WiFi Link 5100 [8086:4232]

Re: wi fi not seen

Hi monkeykid

SliTaz comes with LAN only; to activate wifi

[*]first get and install the firmware for your wifi card

  tazpkg -gi firmware-iwlwifi-5000
(hope it is the good one...) :-|

[*]stop and restart network:

  /etc/init.d/network.sh restart

[*]then open tazpanel and configure wifi:

TazPanel > Network > Wireless; you should see all the network SSIDs.

Or you can configure it manually. See:

http://doc.slitaz.org/en:guides:wifi-easy

Note you cannot have LAN and WLAN together in SliTaz.
