dialog --programbox doesn't display first two lines of command output

The Slitaz [c]dialog --progressbox[/c] does not display the first two lines of output.  For example:

[c]$ ls -1
Desktop/
Documents/
Downloads/
Images/
Music/
Public/
Templates/
Videos/

$ ls -1 | dialog --programbox 15 70
Downloads/
Images/
Music/
Public/
Templates/
Videos/[/c]
I've included a screenshot to demonstrate as well.  Any ideas why this is happening?  I don't see this behavior in other distros.  Could it be the version of dialog?

I should add that the companion command, [c]dialog --progressbox[/c], does in fact show all lines of output.
