Hi,
I'm tring to upgrade firefox at version 48.
I've founded here "mirror.switch.ch/ftp/mirror/slitaz/packages/5.0/"
the last version, but it goes on error.
line 2958: can't open '/tmp/tazpkg-8165/23090/receipt'
Have someone of you any idea on how to fix this error ?
Thanks

Hi,
I reply myself. I need to upgrade to rolling.

firefox-official-<current.version>.tazpkg from packages/5.0 runs on slitaz-4.0 if you follow these directions:
http://forum.slitaz.org/topic/firefox-official-460#post-42564
Once installed use Help/About Firefox to keep it updated.

I just installed firefox-official on Slitz 5.0 using tazpkg. It is installed in
/opt/mozilla/firefox
But I cannot start it. I get, as root or as user tux, the error message:
root@slitaz:/usr/bin# ./firefox-official
XPCOMGlueLoad error for file /opt/mozilla/firefox/libmozgtk.so:
libharfbuzz.so.0: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory
Couldn't load XPCOM.
In addition: updatedb does not work here. I get in a root konsole the error message
/usr/bin/find: `/home/tux/.gvfs': Permission denied
What to do now?
Regards,
Michael

[c]# tazpkg search-pkgname libharfbuzz.so.0
Search result for package "libharfbuzz.so.0"

harfbuzz-icu

Stangely, TazPkg seems stuttering
or me bay there are duplicates on mirror.
Anyway, install harfbuzz.
What version of SliTaz 5.0? harfbuzz is already install with the last rolling ISO.

Just Slitaz 5.0, installed from a CD. Strange, indeed.
Harfbuzz was installed! Now I tried it again to start firefox from /opt/mozilla/firefox with a konsole and get the error message:
/usr/bin/firefox-official
(firefox:4682): GLib-GObject-CRITICAL **: gtype.c:2720: You forgot to call g_type_init()
(firefox:4682): GLib-CRITICAL **: g_once_init_leave: assertion `result != 0' failed
(firefox:4682): GLib-GObject-CRITICAL **: g_object_new: assertion `G_TYPE_IS_OBJECT (object_type)' failed
What does this mean?

@Ceel: this had happened just about midnight. To make one thing clear: this is only „sport“. Firefox ESR, installed just by „tazpkg -gi firefox“, works correct on this installation.
The problem appears only with firefox-official.
tux@slitaz:~$ which firefox-official
/usr/bin/firefox-official
tux@slitaz:~$ cd /usr/bin/
tux@slitaz:/usr/bin$ sh firefox-official
firefox-official: line 1: syntax error: unexpected word (expecting ")")
tux@slitaz:/usr/bin$ ls -ll firefox-official
lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 28 Aug 20 21:35 firefox-official -> /opt/mozilla/firefox/firefox
Have a nice sundy,
Michael

Hi Michael,
Hmm, beyond my possibilities in Linux...
[c]syntax error: unexpected word (expecting ")")[/c] -> maybe you need bash to run it??
Have a nice sunday too
