Cannot boot Live USB

Hello,

I have just downloaded the slitaz-rolling.iso image an hour ago;

I want to test it on an old PC

then, I created a bootable Live USB with this ISO using Linux Live USB Creator Tool (V2.9.4);

When I try to boot on this USB key on a PC that is able to boot on an USB key (I already did it with an Ubuntu USB key created with the same Linux Live USB Creator tool), I get a message telling me to insert a bootable device (I have disabled boot on CD and on HDD to avoid booting on another device)

Any idea about this problem or about a tool taht works to create a Live Slitaz USB ?

I have found some entries here, but, it is too old :

http://www.slitaz.org/fr/doc/handbook/liveusb.html

thanks in advance

Re: Cannot boot Live USB

Hello,

I solved this problem :

it is not enough or good to change, via the BIOS menu of the PC, the boot sequence and telling it to boot, first, on a removable device (rather than CD or HDD);

I had to change the Disk Drive sequence, forcing the USB Flash to be selectd first;

this way, it boots on USB ;

for info, at time of boot, I got the message "c32box.c32: not a COM32R image",

and, to solve that, I unzip (via 7zip) the c32box.c32 and rename the unzipped file into c32box.c32 (and the original c32box.c32 into c32box.c32.origin)

Once booted, I have got an unfortunately usual problem with my WIFI adapter which is not properly recognized or, at least, does not connect to my Internet router box ...

Will open a new post for that

@jack_london

you should unzip c32box.c32 *and* vesamenu.c32

Re: Cannot boot Live USB

@Bellard,

If using <universal-usb-installer-1-9-6-6.exe> for creating the usb stick, only c32box.c32 is a valid archive, vesamenu.c32 is not valid.
