Ignore this,go to my last post in this thread.
[c]tazpkg -gi libpng+apng[/c]
Slim and packages listed with "tazpkg rdepend libpng" need to be checked/updated due to change:

Ooops... I used the bad option
[c]tazpkg search-pkgname libpng16.so.16
Search result for package "libpng16.so.16"

libpng+apng

1 package
root@slitaz: # tazpkg -gi libpng+apng
[/c]
Now SliTaz boots in graphic mode but: black screen with cursor (a cross) in the middle.
By the way, I noticed this strange thing with tazpkg 842 (same with 838):
[c]
tazpkg -sf local.sh
Search result for file "local.sh"

Package slitaz-boot-scripts:

Thanks mojo,
but did not really solve the problem. Something wrong in one of the updated packages?

Check if pcmanfm is running, it manages the desktop.
I'm getting Checksum errors for every package I try to update so I killed the update before it hosed my system.
Ok, the packages are "new builds", it's checking the same version in my cache and reporting the mismatch before it fetch's the new build.
I've resumed my update.

I run [c]tazpkg up[/c] a new time and saw a new rebuild package.
I suppose some other packages are being rebuilt, I going to wait.

[Ctrl]+[Alt]+[Backspace] to close the X server.
Then [c]pcmanfm[/c] from console mode:
[c]/usr/bin/slim: error while loading shared libraries: libexif.so.12: cannot open
shared object file: No such file or directory[/c]
Get-install libefix and [c]pcmanfm[/c]:
[c]Cannot open display[/c]
Tried to start slim but always blackscreen.
Finished for me tonight, I have to leave at 5 am...

Hi Ceel,
Please keep yourself from the upgrades these days until build system will be repaired.
I know the answer to your note:
By the way, I noticed this strange thing with tazpkg 842 (same with 838):
[c]tazpkg -sf local.sh
Search result for file "local.sh"

[*]When it search, the dot is means "any single character" (yes, there's you may use regular expressions).
[*]When it display, it search for terms literally, and the dot is just the dot. It can't find it, so display nothing.
[attachment=44178,2447]
And yes, it is the bug. Tazpkg should use (or don't use) regexps in both actions.

@ceel
Slim is broken with error:
libpng warning Application built with libpng-1.2.56 but running with 1.6.2
Re-installing slim from my archive fixed X-login problem on my system.
Download attached slim.
[c]tazpkg install slim-1.3.5.tazpkg --forced[/c]

Hi guys,
I am hit by this as well. Thank you mojo for attaching slim-1.3.5.tazpkg - luckily, I had Lynx installed, so I was able to read this topic, download the file, and reinstall from the terminal. Now I can get to X and Firefox, but many other things are broken ...
Have a good weekend,
-Z.

yep - got this issue on both my PCs after an update.
(Hadn't done a reboot on the first til noticed the issue on the 2nd.)
have download the slim tazpkg using Links as suggest by Zann. A reboot after install didn't show any change ie no gui.
midori via cli gives 'cannot open display'
is /usr/bin/slim non accessible? It wont let me cd to it.

oops - slim is not a directory… duh!!
ignore my last question… yeah - still learning the obvious.

Hi there!
It's been so many months since I last came here!
And also so many months since I last updated my system. How unlucky I am: I updated yesterday...
Thanks to mojo I can now boot normally! (BTW: I had slim-pam in fact; does it harm to install slim[not-pam]?)
But... Libreoffice won't start anymore. The splash image appears and disappears almost immediately; if I run soffice.bin the "menu window" displays, but trying to open a file gives segfault.
Zann said: "Many other things are broken". When do you think the mess will be cleaned? I had the bright idea of cloning my root partition before upgrading (over 700 packages!), so I should be able to revert back to my 1-year-old working system ;-) if necessary.

I am also encountering black screen currently with 32 bit PC.

Мне кто-нибудь обьяснит, почему у нас дефолтная libpng некрофильской версии, когда все давно уже перелезли на ветку 1.6?

Привет, Саша.
Объясняю
Добро пожаловать в обновление SliTaz Next:
http://hg.slitaz.org/wok-next/
http://cook.slitaz.org/next/
До приличных результатов еще далеко как до Киева…
Но сейчас тут (в обычном wok, не в wok-next) затеялась быстрая (!) пересборка пакетов с минимумом (!) обновлений и фиксов. Так что let it be.

Hi there,
I need some help, anyone, please.
There's a list of packages need to be just re-cooked, without any changes:
http://forum.slitaz.org/topic/libpng16so16-no-such-file-or-directory#post-44193
I requested SliTaz Cooker to rebuild the packages, but still nothing happened. Can you, please, rebuild the packages? It ancient, but effective way: adding newline to the end of the receipt?
I'm busy until night, want to go to office right now.
Thanks!
PS. To be precise, I told here about regular ("Cooking") wok: http://hg.slitaz.org/wok/

SliTaz Next (a.k.a. SliTaz-6.0).

It's definitely not a complete list. For example:
http://cook.slitaz.org/cooker.cgi?pkg=wxWidgets28
> Cook date : 2017-02-16 13:28
# ldd /usr/lib/libwx_gtk2u_core-2.8.so | grep png
libpng16.so.16 => not found
libpng12.so.0 => /usr/lib/libpng12.so.0 (0xb6406000)

Thank you, Xander.
Rechecking the new list right now...

* libwmf
* opencv
* openmotif
* wxWidgets
* wxWidgets28[/c]

Libreoffice still doesn't work. However neither oosplash nor soffice.bin miss dependencies (ldd does not report "not found").
