Default wifi connection

Hi, it's a few day that i'm using this distribution and i have a problem, i hope this is not due to my inexperience.

How can i disconnect the wifi from my router without shutting down wlan0? I connected once and now even if i try to connect to another AP it still mantain connection with my default router. The only way to be disconnected is to shut down the wireless interface.

Sorry for the silly question but i want to mantain my sistem offline the most of the time, thanks in advance

Sorry, i changed the config file erasing all info about the AP (key, ssid and type of encryption) and now when i try to start tazpanel i get "Cannot connect to destination (tazpanel)"

Have you tried to stop wifi using Applications->Preferences->WiFi Manager? This script allows you to stop the wifi connection when you want to be offline for whatever reason and start it when you want to go online.
