Help installing a .deb package in S5

Trying to install OpenBoardView-R7.3-Linux.deb from:

https://github.com/OpenBoardView/OpenBoardView/releases/download/R7.3/OpenBoardView-R7.3-Linux.deb

tazpkg convert errors with "Invalid target: amd64 (expected i386)"

And my attempts to install from source code have also failed (although I am a beginner at installing from source).

Can anybody help me to install this software please?

Re: Help installing a .deb package in S5

Hello TraceE

seems you try to install/convert an amd64 (64bit) program on an i386 (32bit) computer - this will not work ...

Maybe you should try Slitaz 5 with an 64bit Kernel. http://mirror.slitaz.org/iso/rolling/slitaz-rolling-core64.iso - I would try.

I converted several packages with "tazpkg convert" and have made good experiences with .rpm packages as source btw.

Re: Help installing a .deb package in S5

Hi Ernst ... yes you are correct.

They are very unclear about the packages on the download site ... it seems all the Linux packages and source code are 64bit and the windows .exe is 32bit but I can't see anywhere on the site where it actually says that.

I have the 32bit .exe running in 32bit Slitaz 5 now with wine .... smile
