Re: need help to connect internet by regular LAN line on 5.0

if I understand you correctly it sounds like you have wifi as an option.  I know how to get the wifi on my machine to work..so will explain this:

In the top panel on the right side theres an icon that looks like two plugs…the 'network connection' icon.

Click on that for a pop up menu 'connection properties', click on the 'configure' button at the bottom.

This will ask for the root password 'root' and takes you into the Slitaz panel into the 'Network'.

(Double) click on 'wlan'.

If your wifi device is working a list of available networks should appear. (Click 'Scan' if there are none.)

(if your network is hidden it will appear as '(hidden)'.

Click on your network…security will change to the right setting ('WPA/WPA2 PSK' - on my PC.)

Enter your network name and password…and click 'configure.

Wait a little until the configuration file details are updated.

Click on the 'network connection' icon in the top panel again…and change the setting to 'wlan0' to see the icon plug indicators working.

Wifi:

The rolling iso only includes wireless firmware for ralink and realtek wireless adapters.

The user must identify their adapter and install the matching firmware.

b43 driver requires installing http://people.slitaz.org/~mojo/stuff/b43-firmware-4.150.10.5.tazpkg

After installing firmware the module must be reloaded and /var/log/messages checked to verify the module loaded the firmware without errors.

Ethernet (Wired Local Area Network):

Post complete output from lspci -nn

Re: need help to connect internet by regular LAN line on 5.0

so it listed your network name...which indicates the wifi is working...as its finding networks...however the lack on connection to your network may indicate a log in failure.

Id try re-entering the password again...just to make sure there wasn't a typo error.

I'm no expert, but make sure you select the correct type of encryption and if WPA the correct type of wpa. Also could be an issue with the driver itself, or your firmware.  Make sure you have the latest firmware update, just to make sure there are no past lingering bugs or issues in the version you have now.
