Running LAMP in RAM

Hi,

Can I use Slitaz to run a LAMP website, but off a pendrive?? ie. it has to store the tables in MEMORY n all, but if there is a write to the table, ultimately it has to end up on the pendrive (RELIABLY and without fail), but without losing perfomance of the site. How do I accomplish this? Should I fiddle around with RAMdisks? Or is that necessary, cause  when Apache and mysqld etc, load, they load from disk *into RAM*, right? So, performance shouldn't be hit cause I'm running off a pendrive?
