No eth0 device on slitaz under QEMU/KVM virtualization (eth0 error msg)

No eth0 device on slitaz under QEMU/KVM virtualization (eth0 error msg)

Kindly update the driver or fix the issue in next slitaz-rolling version.

slitaz is incredibly light weight and it is very useful for virtualization under QEMU.

Screen resolution are limited to 1024x768 in slitaz. Kindly enable option to select high resolution monitor.

Re: No eth0 device on slitaz under QEMU/KVM virtualization (eth0 error msg)

its not always true, what the this connection window tells - better look to the output of:

dmesg | grep eth

and

ifconfig

and slitaz has only vesa and fbdev drivers included - to get better resolution you have to install your video driver

Re: No eth0 device on slitaz under QEMU/KVM virtualization (eth0 error msg)

Thanks for your replay.

SliTaz-3.0-xvesa.iso- it solves the Video Resolution Issue. But not a network eth issue.

Running under QEMU virtualization.

eth is not detecting under QEMU virtualization. Please see the output of "dmesg | grep eth" is not showing anything.

do need any eth driver to run under QEMU virtualization.

Can we have any eth generic driver SliTaz iso? like "SliTaz-3.0-xvesa.iso" available for video.

Hi,

If you use virtio hardware, you need to have KVM driver modules on kernel.

It's provided by linux-kvm package.

With e1000 card type, it's work because driver build already inside kernel.

For use them, you need first switch to e1000 card, install linux-kvm package, and revert to virtio card.

venchancer, i suppose you need e1000 card, or you have kvm driver.

Best regards

Hi

How to install "linux-kvm package" inside SliTaz manually. because network interface is not detected inside QEMU/KVM virtualization.

Re: No eth0 device on slitaz under QEMU/KVM virtualization (eth0 error msg)

Download linux-kvm package (for SliTaz rolling) from another computer on a USB key.

Connect the key to you SliTaz PC. Open a terminal as root.

Change to the dir where is linux-kvm-3.2.71.tazpkg and

[c]tazpkg -i linux-kvm-3.2.71.tazpkg[/c]

It is started working after changing network card module as "e1000 card". Thanks for your replay. much appreciated.
