xorg.conf deleted

I installed Slitaz 5 cooking on an old Toshiba computer, and after finishing the installation I tried to solve the problem of Minecraft not working, with an error message referring to OpenGl.

Googling the error message, I found a website reporting that it was a problem with the graphic driver so I installed the nvidia driver that they recommended.

After that there was no way to get a graphic session working, I kept getting an error message about too many screens.

It was late in the evening and the computer was to be shipped in the morning, so in desperation I tried mistake after mistake and ended deleting xorg.conf (as recommended by another website).

Now I get a message about "no screen"...

I apologize for being that imprecise, but I don't have access to the computer right now so I can't check the exact errors.

How to find or create a valid xorg.conf file then?

And how to fix the conflicting graphic drivers that plagued it?

I would first run lspci command and work out the graphics card installed on your system (this command will list all the pci modules and among which you should be able to see the description of the video card) and then run 'tazx' command (as root) -> select xorg -> then select the appropriate card. This should install the correct driver. Hopefully, when you reboot you should have your graphics working correctly.

I turned on the very computer (to which I had no access for a few weeks after the night I tried to fix the graphic session, and so that was not turned on for that period) in order to try lspci as you advised, and it opened a graphic session just after startup, like he couldn't be bothered...

????!???!?????!????!??!?????

I am relieved that it works now (though too late, as I had to provide a replacement for it as it was supposed to ship one month ago) but at the same time I am quite frustrated to not understand what could explain this behaviour...

Of course I did try to restart it a few times the night I spent trying to fix the graphic session after breaking it!
