how to install latest kernel?

Hello geeks! I am unable to launch tazpanel it shows blank screen. So I am unable to install required packages for kernel. can I configure Ethernet manually using CLI and install latest kernel?

I have installed compiz

[c]tazpkg get-install compiz[/c]

right now its working and processing spead has been increased in Dell Latitude D620
