NIC problems with Slitaz 5.0 on Dell Latitude C600 latop

Hello,

I would like to report a problem with Slitaz 5 (and older version) on a laptop Dell Latitude C600: the network card is not detected 4 times out of 5, and sometimes not at all.

With this error at startup :  ifconfig:SIOCGFLAGS: No such device.

It's impossible to exploit the output of lspci

lspci -vv :00 :00 .0 Class 0600 :8086 :7190

           00 :01 .0 Class etc

With SysrescueCD:

The NIC is :

00:10.0 Ethernet controller: 3Com Corporation 3c556 Hurricane CardBus (Cyclone)

Kernel driver in use: 3c59x

Kernel module: 3c59x

If I launch SysRescueCD, the NIC is recognized and works well. After reboots with Slitaz, the NIC is ok. If I restart the laptop on Slitaz after poweroff, the NIC is unrecognized.

Regards.

Not sure whether this of any use or not....

https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Dell_Latitude_C600

perhaps worth checking whether the support for Ethernet module is enabled in the Slitaz kernel.
