Hi,
anybody here who knows whether one can get Slitaz firmware for this Logitech USB stick?
ID 046d:c534 Logitech
With dmesg I cannot get any output after plugging it in. In a root konsole using ifconfig it does now show up.

Hi Michael,
I had a quick look on the internet but just foud that ID 046d:c534 Logitech was a receiver for a wireless mouse.
Can you install the usbutils package and run again [c]lsusb -nn[/c]?
Hope it'll be a little more verbose.

The module that works on Debian stretch with it is rtl8xxxu - it comes from the package firmware-realtek_20170823-1_all.deb

Do not try too much now. I just found in http://mirror1.slitaz.org/packages/next/ two potential candidates: firmware-r8192u_usb-20170906.tazpkg and a non-usb-one. I will check this first. Stay tuned! ;-)

most linux firmware you can find here
http://anduin.linuxfromscratch.org/BLFS/linux-firmware/
you just copy it to /lib/firmware
you can also take the firmware from debian and copy it to /lib/firmware
also you can install the debian package with tazpkg convert

Ok, done. But it does not work. In case I look with „ifconfig -a“ no Wifi-device is shown.
With „lsmod | grep rt“ I do not see the module. How to systematically find out where the problem is? - Relaxed, please, as I have other means to connect with the Internet.

No, the slitaz packages did not work. The right module was not inserted. So I took the firmware from a Debian stretch installation on the same laptop. The file is called RTL8192E and I copied it into /lib/firmware. Inside of RTL8192E there are boot.img data.img main.img, 3 img files. When I inserted the stick

I think, it will not work with rolling with kernel 3.2
