The same ISO image. Booted it just using existing Grub and the ISO file.

As I had almost no software added except wifi driver and abiword, I just reinstalled the USB (thi time slitaz-rolling-core.iso instead of slitaz-rolling.iso) and the problem with the daemon disappeared. The new one however is now as posted - when upgrading busybox to newest 1.28.1 the boot stucks and I need to revert to previous.gz (with bb
So not upgrading at the moment

I'm glad your problem solved, although I did not help anything :-)
Something went wrong with the Busybox-1.28 and Pascal already rolled back his update.

-today's latest upgrade to busybox 1.27.2 build causes no problem with boot/ udevd? (like bb 1.28.1 did) anymore
-but problem with mate-notification-daemon resurfaced (not that it bothers me much 
P.S. attached tazpkg.log excerpt with what I installed after release of iso on 18.02

Today's upgrade of busybox fixed the problem. Tazpkg notification closes on its own without being killed.
