How To Communicate On Linux & Windows At The Same Time?

Hi! I am using Slitaz 5.0 rolling Core ISO. My friend is using Windows 7 on a same network connection over LAN and using a router. Can we use our Linux terminal and Windows CMD together? How can we communicate each other? Please advice.

Communicate, you mean sharing files etc?

Or you mean sending messages to each other, like I remember i did at uni long ago with mdos command "net send"? Maybe this is something of useto you:

There are plenty of ways if Google windows Linux messages lan...

Most refer to sambacliient, telnet, netcat (NC), Linux commands write, talk... And there are some lan chat applications on sourceforge.

I haven't tried myself, as have neither network nor pals to chat with. You have to try what works and is suitable for you...
