Time zone issue on LiveCD

If booting latest weekly slitaz 5.0 livecd without internet connection the system time always gets wrongly loaded.

For example, PC's RTC has clock in EDT (it's currently daylight savings time here). If booting slitaz while properly selecting EDT time zone but without internet connection, system time is always loaded with -4 hours.

Similar logic for any timezone.

Is time zone internet dependent on slitaz livecd?

Also, some few times I notice even when properly booting slitaz livecd with internet connection system clock suffers of exactly the same problem, with clock never fixing itself. I often need to reboot livecd several times to make it load with the correct time.

No idea about this issue...

Re: Time zone issue on LiveCD

Accessories/Time.is will launch TazWeb browser to time server website and update System time.

Re: Time zone issue on LiveCD

Please search for "hwclock" in older Posts.

It seems that slitaz assumes that your he clock is set to UTC by default, which may not be the case if you use win on the same PC. It took me some trying to change, not sure anymore how, but recall I did as below and than saved setting to rootfs.gz:

#hwclock -l

#hwclock -s

Re: Time zone issue on LiveCD

When booting livecd and typing hwclock command I get some message of "/dev/rtc no such file or directory", or something like that.

This whether slitaz is correctly working or not.

Re: Time zone issue on LiveCD

You are supposed to input the command as root (su or sudo)
