Slitaz will not boot at all on VirtualBox or KVM (using virt-manager)

Hello all

I tried to install Slitaz Rolling 64 bit on VirtualBox, using two different laptops, and after the installation completes successfully, I reboot the VM and all I get is a blank screen with a blinking cursor. I even installed the bootloader while performing the installation. On another laptop of mine, when I install Slitaz and I reboot the  VM, VirtualBox crashes.  I then tried to install Slitaz on a KVM VM and I get the a screen that says booting from hard drive, but nothing happens.. Any idea what I am doing wrong here?

Thanks!

Perhaps the hardware does not support virtualisation of 64-bit machines.

For Intel Atom processors, there is more information about Intel VT at wikipedia.org/wiki/Intel_Atom.

With similar symptoms on a Shuttle XS3500V2 I installed the 32bit flavor of SliTaz rolling in a virtual machine from Virtualbox and it worked fine.

Re: Slitaz will not boot at all on VirtualBox or KVM (using virt-manager)

Thank you for the reply, but none of my computers use Intel Atom,  one uses an 8 core AMD processor which I run multiple 64 bit VMs on with various Linux OSes, such as Arch Linux, CentOS,  Alpine Linux, Funtoo Linux, Debian etc.  The other has a core i7 processor if I am not mistaken, and the other has an Intel core 2 duo processor. Slitaz does not boot in a VM on ANY of these computers..

Re: Slitaz will not boot at all on VirtualBox or KVM (using virt-manager)

Ok  I found out what happened.  Slitaz-Rolling ISO wont let me use an ext4 file system. It only allows an ext3 file system to boot successfully.  How come an ext4 file system is not allowed?
