dowgrade kernel to 3.14.79..?

hey folks!

im using slitaz for a couple of years now, mostly for my digital djing tasks.

i use a rt-patched kernel for this. luckily, i always found an appropriate patch for the slitaz kernel version.

with 3.2.71, it was sufficient to run

tazpkg get-install linux-source

/usr/bin/get-linux-source

to get the slitaz kernel, and patch it with the corresponding rt-patch version.

now we are on 3.16.55 and i can only find rt-patches for 3.14.79 (older) or 3.18..(newer).

is there a way to tell get-linux-source to get 3.14.79?

i tried opening it and changing VERSION to 3.14.79 but it still downloads 3.16.55.

how can i downgrade the slitaz sources?

i saw that slitaz-next has kernel 4.9.30.

there is a rt-patch for that kernel version available at https://mirrors.edge.kernel.org/pub/linux/kernel/projects/rt/4.9/older/

i think i'll go down that route and try to migrate to 64 bit..

EDIT:

wont work, as slitaz-next does not have a linux-source package..

does anyone have any idea what i could do? how could i manually patch a kernel to be slitaz-compatible? what are the patches involved to make a kernel from mainline become a slitaz kernel?

If you look at https://www.kernel.org/category/releases.html - you will see, that only 3.16 is supported now. So in terms of security, SliTAz had to change to 3.16.

slitaz next is not ready to use.

And of course you can change to 3.18 - https://rt.wiki.kernel.org/index.php/Main_Page

And its quite stupid, that they maintain 3.18 and not 3.16
