libreoffice will not start in tux

Hello,

I just did a fresh install of Slitas 5.3 RC on a HP minni laptop with a SSD

I installed libreoffice, just like I did a number of times before, it always worked.

But this time it only works when I login as root, when I log in as Tux it doesn't.

Anyone an idea?

Re: libreoffice will not start in tux

After a number of reinstallations of Libreoffice, I formatted the disk to EXT4 and reinstalled Slitaz.

Than I reinstalled Libreoffice and now it all works fine.

I have no idea what wend wrong, I have had some problems with Libreoffice before, but in the end

it always seem to workout.

Ps. It's not always dark without windows.

No problem for you with LibreOffice Impress and Draw?

Re: libreoffice will not start in tux

@R8  Sorry for my late reply, I was on holyday in France, no laptop and no phone just nice and  quiet.

I mostly use Calc and Writer, but I just checked, Draw and Impress seem to work fine.

I'm no cumputerwizard and commandlines are the things my wife uses, like: Wipe your feet, Sit down, Eat your dinner, and so on.

LibreOffice can be a bit temperamentfull at times, for some reason not known to me it worked when I reformatted the SSD EXT 4

Thank you for your answer.

My problem (http://forum.slitaz.org/topic/libreoffice-problems-libsdloso) is still not resolved. I tried a lot of solutions but nothing works...

Re: libreoffice will not start in tux

@ R8  The first time I installed LibreOffice Aleksej helped me out.

       http://forum.slitaz.org/topic/how-to-get-libreoffice-to-work

       Hi Red,

You can install latest LibreOffice from the SliTaz Next repository.

LibreOffice from this site is compatible with the SliTaz-5 series.

    1. Follow link to visit download page: http://cook.slitaz.org/next/LibreOffice/download

    2. Download the LibreOffice itself package (the biggest, 106.9MB package file) to your machine. Note, the package is big and need some amount of time to download.

    3. You can also download some langpacks (LibreOffice interface translations and dictionary). Note, I don't make Netherland langpack yet, but can make it for you if you want.

    4. On this step I advice you to remove old LibreOffice package (not necessarily, but desirable).

    5. Install new package(s) you download by double clicking them, entering root password, and pressing "Install" button. Note, package is big and required some time to installing...

That's all.

I tested it right now in my SliTaz-5-based distro, and it works well.

Maybe this will help.

PS my holyday was great

Re: libreoffice will not start in tux

Thank you for your idea but I already tried that without success. Look at my messages here: http://forum.slitaz.org/topic/libreoffice-problems-libsdloso

I will continue the discussion on the other thread, I will not make doublons.
