Slitaz Rolling installation over lubuntu 18.04 with GRUB.

Hello,

I have an old computer with lubuntu 18.04. (i386 32 bits)

I decided to install Slitaz 5 Rolling on that computer because it was too slow with lubuntu.

Therefore, I started my PC with Slitaz Live CD.

Then I installed Slitaz and I checked the "Install a bootloader" checkbox.

However, when I rebooted, GRUB was still present and the PC did not boot anymore...

I decided to start again with the Slitaz Live CD and I manually erased the MBR with this command:

sudo dd if=/dev/zero of=/dev/sda bs=512 count=1

Then, I performed the partitioning of the harddrive with GParted. (512 MB swap and 80 GB rootfs (ext4))

After, I installed Slitaz (again) and I checked the "Install a bootloader" checkbox.

After the reboot, GRUB was successfully removed but I had a black screen after the BIOS and it was stuck there...

Finally, I decided to re-install Windows XP to have a working system. (with clean MBR)

Once the PC was working with Windows XP, I booted again my PC with Slitaz Live CD.

For the third time, I performed the partitioning of the harddrive with GParted. I deleted the FAT partition and I created 512 MB swap and 80 GB rootfs (ext4).

After, I installed Slitaz and I checked the "Install a bootloader" checkbox.

Now, after the reboot, the bootloader was finally SYSLINUX and Slitaz was booting correctly.

So my question are:

Q1) Is it possible that there is a problem with the "Install a bootloader" option in the Slitaz installer when GRUB is present on the harddrive ?

Q2) Why SYSLINUX was not installed over GRUB on the first try ? (When installing Slitaz over lubuntu)

Q3) What is the correct way to delete GRUB and install Slitaz bootloader ? (What is the correct way to install Slitaz over Ubuntu?)

Q4) Any idea, why the "Install a bootloader" option worked when I installed over Windows XP ?
